Lumad sa S'yudad

This tail-end 1992 album, was produced as part of the contract with WEA-Universal. The title tells you how I felt – a transplanted probinsyano realizing that home is wherever one is.
The album was beaten by a hair’s breadth to being declared Album of the Year but Dapithapon won a Best Instrumental Performance trophy from the music industry’s Awit Awards body and is possibly (so far) the only rondalla-inspired piece of recorded music ever to be recognized by pop ears.
Pagdiriwang and Little Brown Man are both live performances. The title cut was originally an instrumental piece – lyrics were added upon the suggestion of a record company consultant. Tutubing Bakal features a solo kubing-and-voice arrangement, probably another pop first. Sayaw ng Taong-Talangka, originally written for yet another Agnes Locsin choreography, has been used without permission so many times that I’ll probably get to heaven on the strength of this good karma alone.
